The two sisters, Mare and Hana, were both born in the mountains of Northern Albania and came to America as children refugees. The one thing they both vividly remember before fleeing Albania were the endless red valleys of blossoming poppy flowers. In fact the Red Field Poppy is the national flower of Albania. Also know as "Flanders Poppy" it has become an international symbol of remembrance for those that lost their lives during wartime. In Albania the Red Poppy is used in traditional folk medicine as a tea to sooth sore throats, suppress cough, promote sleep and relaxation, ease headaches and manage pain. Mare and Hana have since travelled back to Albania and are now importing these beautiful hand forged, wild, and organic poppies for all to enjoy.
